The veteran speedster from South Africa Dale Steyn has hit back at a popular commentator namely former New Zealand cricketer Simon Doull over his remarks in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL). Meanwhile, Steyn is plying his trade for Sarfaraz Ahmed’s Quetta Gladiators in the ongoing PSL 2021.

The incident happened on Friday when Doull was commentating during a game between the Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi. Simon Doull was heard saying “mid-life crisis with that hair” as the cameras panned on Dale Steyn, who has a donned a new hairstyle since the IPL last year, was sitting in the dressing room.

Certainly not impressed with the comment, Steyn took to social media to ask who was the commentator and a fan pulled out the video of the same only to find out it was Simon Doull, who was with the mic at that time.

Dale Steyn slams commentator over mid-life crisis comments

The 37-year-old fast bowler seemed miffed with the comments and fired shots at the commentator on the microblogging site. Dale Steyn urged the commentator to focus on speaking about cricket which is his job and not intrude in any cricketer’s personal space or way of living.

He also added that if he still chooses to continue dwelling over other’s personal choices, then he doesn’t deserve any time as a human being.

“If your job is to talk about the game, then do that. But if you use that airtime to abuse anyone for their weight, sexual choices, ethnic backgrounds, lifestyle etc or even hairstyles, then im afraid I have no time for you as a human. You and anyone else like that to be fair,” tweeted Dale Steyn.

The veteran fast bowler has also decided to skip the upcoming IPL 2021 after a very timid outing for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2020 in the UAE.
