David Warner posted an emotional message on his social media on Friday as he leaves the IPL contingent. As Sunrisers Hyderabad played their final game this season against Mumbai Indians the former SRH captain was not picked in the team. He managed to play only two games in the second leg of the IPL in the UAE.

Posting a picture of himself on Instagram, David Warner wrote:

“Thank You for the memories created. To all the fans, you have been a driving force for our team always to give 100%. I can’t thank you all enough for the support shown. It’s been a great ride. My family and I are going to miss you all!! #respect #cricket #hyderabad One last effort today.”

David Warner was stripped of captaincy midway in IPL 2021

David Warner was the captain of the SRH for many years before being removed in the middle of this season. The former SRH captain has had a troubled season with the bat this year. He managed to score only 195 runs in 8 matches. His previous performances have had a huge impact when it comes to SRH as a team.

He guided them to an IPL title in 2016 and has been the orange cap on various occasions. Warner holds the record for scoring the most runs for the franchise in IPL, with 4014 runs in his kitty in just 95 matches at an average of 49.55. He has scored two centuries and forty fifties for the franchise since joining them in 2014.

With the mega auction coming up next year we may see David Warner in a different jersey next year but his legacy with Sunrisers Hyderabad will always be unmatched. He will always be one of the greatest leaders of the Orange Army.
