Dawid Malan is now the new number 1 ranked T20I batsman in the world. After the conclusion of the Australia and England T20I series, ICC released the updated T20I rankings. Malan has now jumped four spots after his batting performances helped England win the series 2-1 against Australia.
Malan has now displaced Pakistan’s T20 skipper Babar Azam who was ranked number 1 since December 2018. The England batsman was the highest run-scorer in the recently concluded series against the Aussies with 129 runs. The 33-year-old Malan is now eight rating points ahead of the Pakistani batsman, who has 877 points.

Meanwhile, Jos Buttler has also jumped from the 40th to 28th position after his terrific performances in the opening two T20Is. Buttler was also named the player of the series against Australia for his 121 runs in two matches. Also, England’s opening batsman Johnny Bairstow has also reached a career-best 19th rank after his knock of 72 in the final T20I match.

Whereas from Australia, captain Aaron Finch’s 125 runs in the series have helped him retain the third position. Glenn Maxwell remains to his sixth position among batsmen in the T20I rankings.
Indian batsman KL Rahul slipped two positions and is presently at the 4th position for batsmen with 824 points. Virat Kohli is the only other Indian batsman in the top 10 of T20I ranking for batsmen, as he gained one position and is now ranked 9th.
Meanwhile, as far as the team’s rankings are concerned Australia have reclaimed the top spot in ICC Men’s T20I Team Rankings after their victory over England in the final match of the series. Australia currently has 275 points, with England and India at second and third with 271 and 266 points respectively.
