Delhi have named a star-studded 42-member probable squad for the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy scheduled to start next month. Veteran top-order batsman Shikhar Dhawan has been appointed as the captain while Ishant Sharma, who missed IPL and subsequently the tour of Australia has made it to the squad.
Meanwhile, in what has been a surprising call that former India U-19 skipper Unmukt Chand has been added in the squad. Incidentally, the talented right-handed batsman, who found it difficult to make it to the Delhi squad owing to inconsistent returns shifted his base to Uttarakhand last season and represented them in the domestic circuit. But as it seems, Chand has returned to Delhi and is likely to represent them again.
Delhi appoint Shikhar Dhawan as captain
Ishant Sharma, who suffered a side strain which ruled him out of the entire IPL, has recovered fully and with turn out in the domestic T20 competition. He underwent rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru recently and missed out on India’s tour of Australia. However, he won’t be available for all the matches.
