Devdutt Padikkal Sidelined For A Period Of Three To Four Weeks Owing To A Thumb Injury

Having participated in two T20Is for India, Devdutt Padikkal shared information about his injury and the subsequent treatment, mentioning that he will be inactive for the following three to four weeks. Promising young talent Devdutt Padikkal won’t be participating in any matches for the upcoming three to four weeks due to a thumb fracture he sustained while playing in the Deodhar Trophy earlier this month.

The left-handed batsman was initially set to be part of the Gulbarga Mystics in the ongoing Maharaja KSCA T20 trophy but had to opt out due to his injury. Having played for India in two T20Is, Padikkal provided information about his injury and the subsequent medical care he is undergoing.

“I had a left-thumb fracture during the Deodhar Trophy. So, I had to undergo a minor surgery to get that fixed. I will be out of the game for probably another three to four weeks. Hopefully, I can be back on the field soon,” he informed Fancode.

This setback not only impacts Padikkal personally but also poses a challenge for his team, the Gulbarga Mystics in the Maharaja KSCA T20 trophy 2023, given his notable performances that have established him as a key player. During last month’s Deodhar Trophy final, Padikkal’s squad, South Zone, secured a commanding 45-run victory over East Zone in Puducherry, largely due to an outstanding batting display by Rohan Kunnumal.

South Zone’s supremacy was evident as they claimed their ninth title, winning all five of their league matches in the tournament. Padikkal might be eyeing the upcoming Indian domestic tournament, the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, for his comeback, with the event scheduled to commence on October 16. While in the process of recovering, the star batter of Rajasthan Royals, Padikkal, has the support of cricket enthusiasts and his team, who eagerly await his swift return to the field.

They’re eager to witness his usual style of confidently taking on the bowlers and hitting boundaries with precision.
