ENG vs IND 2021: Deepti Sharma To Ring The Bell At Lord’s On Day Four

India’s all-rounder Deepti Sharma will ring the bell at the Lord’s Cricket Ground on Sunday to signal five minutes before the start of play on day four of the England vs India test match.

Deepti Sharma made her debut for the Indian team in November 2014 against South Africa. In 2017, she slammed her maiden hundred against Ireland. Deepti scored 188 runs and ranks second on the table of the Highest maiden hundred in WODIs. She has represented India in 61 ODIs, 54 T20Is, and one test match. Across formats, Deepti Sharma has scored 2094 runs and has taken 127 wickets at the International level.

The tradition of ringing the five-minute bell at the Lord’s Cricket Ground by an international cricketer, administrator, or well-known enthusiast of the sport was introduced in 2007. The first occasion took place during the West Indies tour of England in 2007. The bell is located outside the Bowlers’ Bar of the Lord’s Pavilion.

On the opening day of the ongoing test match, former England star Enid Bakewell rung the bell. Andrew Strauss led the ceremonial bell ring on day two to mark the ‘Red for Ruth’ day, while former India cricketer Farokh Engineer did the honors on day three.
