After an intriguing battle of five days, it was Virat Kohli’s Team India who emerged victorious at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Stadium in London. Setting up a target of 272 runs, the visitors bowled out England for 120 to go 1-0 up in the five-match Test series.
Meanwhile, India didn’t have the best of starts in the morning session of day 5. They were in a spot of bother after Ollie Robinson got Rishabh Pant out early on day 5. With 209/8, England were fancying their chances to bowl India out and go for a win. But Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami displayed immense grit and determination to toil with the English bowlers and put Virat Kohli & Co on top.

They added a record 89-run for the ninth wicket to set up a target of 272 runs before declaring. Shami remained unbeaten on 56 runs while Bumrah chipped in with 34* and guided India to a total which was enough to seal a win.
Mohammed Siraj picks four wickets to lead India
Chasing 272 runs, England were in trouble ever since India took the field. Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah removed both openers for a duck before Mohammed Siraj ran down England’s batting. Skipper Joe Root tried his best to bail the hosts out of danger but he lacked support from the other end.
Jos Buttler tried his best at the end but Siraj and Bumrah came out on top. Mohammed Siraj picked up four while Jasprit Bumrah chipped in with three wickets alongside Ishant Sharma and Mohammed Shami, who returned with two and one wickets each.
Meanwhile, social media was on fire ever since Siraj rattled James Anderson’s timber to win the match by 152 runs.
