A day before the second Test st Lord’s Stuart Broad injured his right ankle and was ruled out from the series against India. This came as a big blow to his team who are battling injury issues to a couple of other players as well. James Anderson thus will have a new bowling partner from the other end and possibly its Saqib Mahmood. Broad was sad as he posted an emotional message on his Instagram handle.Â
On Wednesday, just afger he was ruled out from the Test series, Stuart Broad penned a letter with a heavy heart. He first wrote about hoe he got injured during the practice session.Â
“Things can change so quickly. A moment before training all smiles, then during the warm up, I jumped a hurdle, landed a bit awkwardly on my right ankle then the next step felt like I’d been whipped by a rope as hard as you can imagine on the back of my leg. I actually turned to @jimmya9 and asked why he whipped me! 😂 but when I realised he was no where near me, I knew I was in trouble. Scans say Grade 3 calf. All so innocuous” wrote Broad.Â
Broad continued as he said that he is gutted to miss the series and is looking forward to the Ashes series after recovering from his injury.Â
“Season over & gutted to miss this India Test Series but a huge focus on Australia now. Going to take my time, no rush, baby steps & be the fittest I can be heading out there. Big focus in my brain. Good luck to the @englandcricket boys this week. I’ll be watching every ball from my sofa hoping to see runs & wickets in the glorious Lord’s sunshine!”

 Stuart Broad 5 Shy Of 100 Test Wickets At Lord’s
Broad, England’s second-highest wicket-taker in Test cricket has taken more than 1000 wickets together with his bowling partner Jimmy Anderson. Broad has 95 Test wickets to his name at Lord’s in 24 matches.Â
Meanwhile, both teams are expected to make a lot of changes mostly due to injury concerns to players in the second Test at Lord’s.
