ENG vs IND 2021: Wasim Jaffer Predicts India’s Playing XI For 1st Test With Movie Characters

Ever since his retirement, India opener Wasim Jaffer has been a rockstar on social media platforms. Continuing his tradition, Jaffer recently picked India’s playing XI, and this time, he found a new way to put his followers to the task.

Virat Kohli & Co will begin their campaign against England in a five-match Test series on August 4 in Nottingham. This will be their first assignment in the second cycle of the ICC World Test Championship and India will want to start with a win and also avenge England at their home.

Ahead of the game, Wasim Jaffer back in his elements picking India’s playing XI in style. In the absence of Mayank Agarwal, who was ruled out after being hit by a Mohammed Siraj bouncer, Jaffer backed KL Rahul to partner Rohit Sharma using one of Shahrukh Khan’s movie characters.

He further used the picture of Cavit Çetin Güner, the actor from the Turkish TV Series Erutrul Ghazi, to denote the India skipper Virat Kohli. Güner looks exactly like the 32-year-old in his look in the series and then funnily used the head coach Ravi Shastri’s playing picture to hint that the left-arm spin bowling all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja should play.

Wasim Jaffer also picked pace bowler Ishant Sharma and used Ranveer Singh’s Khilji look in Padmaavat to depict the pacer.  Overall, he picked Ravichandran Ashwin as well along with two other pacers in Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah.

Here’s Wasim Jaffer’s India playing XI for the first Test against England: Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli (C), Ajinkya Rahane, Rishabh Pant (WK), Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah.
