Pakistan batsman Babar Azam, who was recently appointed as the limited-overs skipper for Pakistan, rose to prominence in recent times with his batsmanship. His consistent run has drawn comparison with India skipper Virat Kohli, who has taken batting to a whole new level. Recently, veteran England skipper Adil Rashid revealed his pick for the favourite among the two.
The right-handed batsman from Pakistan has proved his credentials in white-ball and has fixed his place in the Test team as well. Babar Azam is also the only batsman to feature within the top 5 in the ICC Rankings across the formats. He has gone from strength to strength ever since making his debut.

On the other hand, Virat Kohli is the only batsman to average over 50 in all the three formats. Kohli has taken Indian cricket forward with his leadership abilities and batsmanship. For many, Kohli is a better batsman between the two while few think that Azam is better than the Indian skipper. England’s spinner Adil Rashid, who has played against both the players, also joined the debate and picked Azam over Kohli in white-ball cricket.
“Ahhh… it’s a tough one. Well, it’s a tough one. So you got to go on the current form… I think I got to go for Babar Azam on current form. I am taking form here…Babar Azam is in better form so I picked Babar Azam. But they both are world-class players anyway,” Adil Rashid told At the Crease TV.

Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see who gets the better hand among Virat Kohli and Babar Azam in the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 in Australia later this year if it happens.
