James Vince has been called up to the England ODI squad after Alex Hales was ruled out due to a side strain. In the process, Dawid Malan who was roped into the squad a week ago has been released to play for England Lions.
England Lions vs India A
England Lions will play against India A in a four-day test match at Worcester from July 16. Karun Nair and boys are all set to face the squad which also includes the likes of English regulars Alastair cook and Chris woakes.
India A won both the series (the triseries and test against Windies A) and the youngsters are announcing their readiness to the senior level. The batsmen displayed their ability to handle pressure in the fourth innings as they comfortably chased a target of 300+.
Malan has been one of the consistent performers for the English in whites. His stability and positive intent in the middle order were one of the notable points during their “forgettable” Ashes last year. Sam Curran, who received his maiden ODI and test caps last month have also been sent back to build a threatening pace attack.
