#5 Mohammed Shami
Indian cricketer Virat Kohli appeared on the ‘Comedy Night with Kapil’ hosted by Kapil Sharma, a few years back. He spilled beans on a lot of things about his personal life and also about his teammates. The episode was loved by the fans, who got to see a relaxed and funny side of the Indian cricketer.
Virat Kohli was asked a few questions by Kapil Sharma about his teammates. When asked, who is the laziest of his teammates, Kohli replied “Mohammed Shami”.
#4 Rohit Sharma
In the same ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’ episode, Virat Kohli also revealed secrets about other cricketers, including about India’s current skipper Rohit Sharma. Kohli expressed that Rohit Sharma can sleep in the most uncomfortable of places. He also added that even if Rohit is not a morning person, as he wakes up late, even if he has slept on time.
“Sabse uncomfortable jagah hogi, waha par bhi so jaayega Woh. Itna sote hue maine kisi ko nai dekha. Time pe sota hai to bhi late uthta hai woh. Late sota hai toh late uthta hi hai.” (He can sleep even in the most uncomfortable place. Even if he sleeps on time, he will wake up late),” said Virat Kohli.
#3 Cheteshwar Pujara
Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara have been playing together for many years. They have developed a good rapport, and have played some memorable knocks together for the Indian team. As the fans know, Cheteshwar Pujara is a calm and composed person, Virat Kohli revealed that his teammate is also very religious.
On Comedy Nights with Kapil, Virat Kohli expressed that Cheteshwar Pujara prays 5 times a day. He also joked that the Saurashtra cricketer is so religious that his wife’s name is also Puja. Kohli said,
“Cheteshwar Pujara. Bohot hi focused. Ussey sharif ladka mene aaj tak nahi dekha. Naam hai paaji Pujara, din me 5 baar puja karta hai aur wife ka naam bhi Puja hai.” (He is very focused. I have not seen a guy like him. His name is Pujara, he does puja five times in a day and his wife’s name is also Puja.)
#2 Hardik Pandya
Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya and Virat Kohli share a great bond on and off the field. They are often seen hanging out together along with KL Rahul. In an episode of Breakfast with Championship, Virat Kohli revealed a funny secret about Hardik Pandya. He expressed that the all-rounder listens to English songs on his iPod, without understanding the lyrics. Kohli said,
“Hardik Pandya ke paas iPod hai, usme saare English gaane hai. Usko ek gaane ke paach words bhee nahee aate. Usko bas beat chaahiye aur woh bas hilta rehtaa hai. (Hardik Pandya has an iPod on which he only has English songs. He does not even know five words from those songs. All he needs is a beat and he starts to groove.)”
#1 Ravindra Jadeja
All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja played under Virat Kohli in the ICC U19 World Cup 2008 tournament. The Indian team won the championship that year. Since then they have played a lot of matches together for the country. In an interesting story that Virat Kohli shared on Comedy Nights with Kapil, he revealed how Ravindra Jadeja makes up stories on narrates them to the other players. He said,
“Jamnagar me rehta hai woh. Ussey Jamnagar ki koi baat karlo. Woh kehta hai ki Jamnagar mai 2 building hai. Har saal ek chaawal ke size jitna paas aati jaa rahi hai. Agar aapas mai mil gayi to duniya khatam ho jayegi. Dekhlo kis level ka feku hai.” (He is from Jamnagar, you can talk anything about Jamnagar with him. Once he told us that there are two buildings that are coming closer to each other every year about a size of a rice. He said the world will end when these two buildings collide.)
