Team India skipper Rohit Sharma gave a speech after the completion of West Indies tour. In the dressing room, Rohit was seen praising the players for adapting their style of play to the demands of the team. Rohit emphasised that the ‘team first’ attitude will produce better results for the side.

Rohit said: “It takes a lot to change your game. It takes a lot to get into a different mindset. It takes a lot to understand what the team requires at every point in time. For me, individual brilliance is good, but those little little efforts from all of us is what will give us more results, consistently, and that is what we are going to focus on.”

Meanwhile, India dominated the West Indies tour. They won the ODI series 3-0 and T20I series 4-1. Next, Team India will take on Zimbabwe in an ODI series from Aug 18. Shikhar Dhawan will be leading India’s 15-man squad.

Rohit Sharma’s stellar record as Team India captain

Rohit Sharma got All-format captaincy of India in Feb 2022. His numbers as India skipper have been amazing. Rohit has led India in 35 T20I games. The team has won 29, lost 6. Win percentage of 82.85 is the best among Indian captains who have led in minimum 5 games. The numbers are similar in the ODI format. Rohit has led in 16 games. The team has won 13, lost 3.

Rohit’s Test Captaincy is still a zygote. He has led in 2 matches, both won by India. This was in the 2-match series against Sri Lanka in March 2022. Due to COVID, Rohit couldn’t captain India in the rescheduled 5th Test against England at Edgbaston. Jasprit Bumrah led the team in Rohit’s absence.
