Former India Cricketer Slams Team Management For Not Playing Manish Pandey In 3rd ODI

Manish Pandey was expected to play in the dead rubble against Australia at Canberra. Team India made several changes in their playing XI but the name of Pandey was still missing. The right-handed batsman sat out of the Indian side in all 3 ODI matches which have surprised several experts. Pandey was among the runs in IPL 2020 and above everything has an ODI century to his name in Australia.

The Indian team management just made a solitary change in their batting as Shubman Gill got a chance in place of Mayank Agarwal. After Manish Pandey didn’t get even a single match in the ODI series former India pacer Dodda Ganesh slammed the management. Dodda Ganesh on Twitter questioned the selection of Pandey in the 15 man squad when he couldn’t even play in a dead rubber.

Manish Pandey once again ignored by the team management

He further continued and wrote that Pandey by the time will finish his career will set a new world record of warming benches for most international matches. The 31-year-old Manish Pandey thus far has only managed to play 26 ODI matches for India

“By the time Manish Pandey retires from international cricket he would’ve set a world record for warming the benches for most number of matches”.

“If you can’t give a game to Manish even in a dead rubber why have him in the fifteen, in the first place ? He’s played only 3 games in the last 2 years”, Dodda Ganesh Tweeted.

Meanwhile, the thing that wasn’t in favour of Pandey was the fact that all middle-order batsmen had contributed in the first two ODIs. The likes of KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya have been in terrific form hence the team management decided not to make any changes in their middle order.

Manish Pandey is a middle-order batsman and can only play in the side if India decides to rest either one of Rahul and Pandya. Also, Shreyas Iyer since making his debut has been consistent at number 4, which is why Pandey was unlucky and wasn’t included in playing XI against Australia in the ODI series.
