Former Indian captain Rahul Dravid inducted in the ICC Hall of Fame

Former Indian captain Rahul Dravid received his cap as he was inducted into the ICC Hall of fame. The Indian legend Rahul Dravid became the fifth Indian to be a part of this prestigious title. It is to be noted that he alongside Ricky Ponting were named to receive the honours a few months back.

Sunil Gavaskar presented the cap to Rahul Dravid and he congratulated him on the special occasion. Gavaskar was one among the three Indians to receive the honour in 2009 (with Kapil Dev and Bishan Singh Bedi).

Speaking on the same, Gavaskar said ” Congratulations Dravid! Welcome to the ICC Hall of Fame. You completely deserve it and you were the conscience of the Indian cricket team. Continue to do all the great work you are doing and all the best.”

Rahul Dravid was one of the most dependable batsmen of his era. His mettle shown in the overseas pitches made India come out in flying colours on numerous occasions. With a tally of 36 centuries and 13,000 runs his figures in the longest format of the game are really impressive till date.

Rahul Dravid took up coaching duties of India Under – 19 and “A” squads and is occupied in grooming them to the international arena. Dravid was successful in his attempts as the junior side won the world cup in the month of February at New Zealand. This year has turned out to be a one to remember for the legend and his fans who call him “The wall”.
