Gautam Gambhir Reacts After Joe Root’s Wicket; Video Goes Viral

Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir couldn’t hide his emotions as England’s star batter Joe Root was bowled out during the fourth day of the third Test match between India and England. Root had built a solid partnership with Ben Stokes, offering a glimmer of hope to the visitors. However, things took a sharp turn when Washington Sundar delivered a ball that spun just enough to beat Root’s sweep shot and crashed into the leg stump.

It was a massive breakthrough for India, as Root’s dismissal marked a turning point in the innings. “Finally Got that Clip pic.twitter.com/4LztNZro44” — this tweet, showing Gambhir’s fired-up reaction in the dressing room, has since gone viral. The intensity on Gambhir’s face reflected how crucial this moment was for Team India and showcased his passionate involvement as head coach.

England Collapse Despite Stokes’ Efforts

England, who resumed their second innings at 175 for six, were bowled out for just 192 in 62.1 overs. The batting line-up collapsed, losing the last four wickets for only 17 runs. Washington Sundar was the standout performer with figures of 4 for 22. His spell proved lethal, especially post-tea, as he removed Ben Stokes for 33 and later dismissed Shoaib Bashir.

Jasprit Bumrah also played a key role, dismissing Chris Woakes (10) and Brydon Carse (1), while Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep chipped in with crucial breakthroughs. The sudden collapse denied England a bigger lead, setting up an exciting finish for the match.

India’s Chase Begins With Trouble

Chasing a target of 193, India ended Day 4 in a tricky position at 58 for 4. The English bowlers struck early, putting India under pressure. Yashasvi Jaiswal fell without scoring, followed by Karun Nair (14) and skipper Shubman Gill (6), who also departed cheaply.

KL Rahul, however, held his ground and remained unbeaten on 33 at stumps. England finished the day strongly, with Ben Stokes claiming the wicket of night-watchman Akash Deep on the very last ball. As India trails by 135 runs going into the final day, the match remains finely balanced, with both teams eyeing a decisive fifth-day showdown.
