Gongadi Trisha, one of India’s brightest young cricketers, was recently honored by Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy following her stellar performance in the Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup. Trisha played a crucial role in helping India secure the title, and her achievements were recognized with a special visit to the CM’s residence in Jubilee Hills.

Gongadi Trisha’s Visit to Telangana Chief Minister

On Wednesday, February 5, Gongadi Trisha visited the official residence of Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. The young cricketer was congratulated for her outstanding contributions to India’s successful U19 Women’s T20 World Cup campaign in Malaysia.

The Chief Minister expressed his admiration for Trisha’s performance and encouraged her to continue excelling in her cricketing career. He assured her of the state government’s full support in her future endeavors.

“Recently, she performed brilliantly in the Under-19 World Cup and has emerged on the world cricket stage. Trisha, the powerful voice of Telangana, was politely met today. I have announced a reward of one crore rupees on behalf of the state government as a reward for her talent. Wishing Trisha more success in cricket… We have decided to give a compensation of Rs 10 lakh each to Telangana’s Dhruti Kesari, a member of the Under-19 World Cup team, team head coach Nausheen, and trainer Shalini,” Revanth Reddy wrote on X.

Recognizing the achievements of the young talents, the Telangana government announced monetary rewards for the players and coaching staff.

Gongadi Trisha was awarded Rs 1 crore for her all-round excellence in the tournament. Dhrithi Kesari, another squad member, received Rs 10 lakhs, despite not getting an opportunity to play. Nooshin Al Khadeer (Head Coach) and Trainer Shalini were each given Rs 10 lakhs for their contributions.

Gongadi Trisha’s Performance in the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup

Trisha was India’s most prolific batter in the tournament, accumulating 309 runs at an average of 77.25 and a strike rate of 147.14. Her ability to play aggressively while maintaining consistency made her a standout performer.

Trisha made history by becoming the first batter to score a century in the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup. Her breathtaking hundred against Scotland was a testament to her skill and temperament under pressure.

Apart from her batting heroics, Trisha also made an impact with the ball. She picked up seven wickets at an economy rate of 3.75, with two three-wicket hauls. Her ability to contribute in both departments made her a vital asset to the team.

India’s Triumph in the Final Against South Africa

In the final against South Africa, Trisha showcased her bowling prowess by claiming three crucial wickets, restricting the Proteas to a modest total. Chasing 83, Trisha played a composed knock of 44 runs off 33 balls, guiding India to victory with more than eight overs to spare. Her performance in the final was instrumental in securing India’s maiden U19 Women’s T20 World Cup title.

Trisha’s Journey Before the U19 Women’s World Cup

Trisha was already a known name before the World Cup, having been the top run-scorer in the inaugural U19 Women’s Asia Cup. Her ability to perform consistently in major tournaments made her one of the most reliable players in the squad. Her form in the lead-up to the World Cup was impressive, with multiple match-winning knocks and crucial contributions in domestic and international matches.
