India’s middle-order batsman Hanuma Vihari who has been classified as only a Test specialist believes he can play in all formats. Vihari who thus far has only played Test cricket for India said that he is happy with the tag of Test specialist. He remained unsold in the Indian Premier League 2019 auctions and was not slated to play in this year’s IPL.
Vihari stated that he was neither sad or affected by this as he has an immense belief that he is good enough to play in all forms of the game. The middle-order batsman in his IPL career has played for two franchises Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi capitals. He has managed to play 24 matches in his IPL career in which he has made just 284 runs.
He was been unable to cement his position while playing for Delhi Capitals in 2019. As a result, he was released from the franchise and was a part of IPL auction in 2019. Hanuma Vihari was kept at a base price of RS. 50 Lakhs in the IPL auction.

“I realised that when things are not in your control, you cannot do much about it. No regrets, not gutted about IPL,” Vihari said during an Instagram chat on the show ‘ Homerun with AV’. “My focus was always on Test cricket from a very early age and I am happy with whatever I did,” he added.
The cricketer from Andhra Pradesh also lauded the Indian captain Virat Kohli who is known for his commitment and work ethic and said he has learned a lot from him. He said that the way Kohli does his preparation before any match inspires him. The best part of Kohli’s game is how he does his preparation.

“I have learned a lot from him. His work ethic is also amazing. Vihari who has been a regular in the Indian squad since the last year always tries to put a price on his wicket. He is the ultimate team man and looks to do anything that the team requires from him. He also explained that he has ambitions of representing India in all form of the game,” Vihari added.
Meanwhile, despite making his Test debut, Hanuma Vihari is yet to play for India in the limited-overs. The 26-year-old expressed that he has the ability to represent the country across the formats and can adapt to any position and deliver the good for his side.
“I am ready to do anything for my team. I always try to score runs, dig deep and play long innings whenever I play abroad. I can’t change what people think about you. I focus on scoring runs consistently and those are the thoughts to come to my mind. I believe I have the ability to play in all formats. Once I get the opportunity I know I can do it,” Vihari concluded.
