The skipper of New Zealand Kane Williamson has always been lauded as one of the best batsmen in the world cricket at the moment. The flamboyant batsman has always delivered goods for New Zealand and awestruck the world with his captaincy during the ICC World Cup 2019. He was also named as the man of the series.

With lockdown being in the effect, he was on an Instagram live session recently with his SRH teammate David Warner. Warner asked Williamson who he thinks is the best batsman in the world at the moment. Williamson said it was difficult to name one.

However, he ended up picking Royal Challengers Bangalore teammates Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers as the best batsman in the world at the moment. Kane Williamson has called AB de Villiers as a special player despite playing only franchise cricket.

“It’s very hard to pinpoint one. Someone like AB — I know he only plays franchise cricket now, but in terms of gifted players, he is right up there. And a top guy as well. He’s one of the special players of our time. But (there are) so many quality players,” Williamson pointed.

Virat Kohli has a real hunger – Kane Williamson

Further, the flamboyant batsman Kane Williamson has also picked Virat Kohli as one of the best batsmen in the world at the moment. He believes Kohli has the real hunger to dominate the game across the formats and has set the bar so high.

“Kohli, in all formats, has a real hunger to dominate. He is so good to watch and play against, and to learn as well. He has set the bar so high,” he further added.

Virat Kohli and Kane Williamson always had a good time on and off the field. Recently, during India’s tour to New Zealand, the fans have witnessed both the stalwarts of the game chatting at the boundary ropes during a live game.
