Today, three years ago Yuvraj Singh played his 300th ODI match for India. In the 2017 Champions Trophy semi-finals against Bangladesh, Yuvraj achieved this rare feat. He became the fifth India cricketer and joined an illustrious list to represent India in 300 ODI matches. Yuvraj joined the likes of Mohammad Azharuddin, Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid to play 300 ODIs for India.

One of his loyal fan club on Twitter shared a special post for Yuvraj for the special achievement. Yuvraj Singh replied to the post and thanked his skipper Sourav Ganguly. Yuvraj made his debut under the leadership of Ganguly in the Champions Trophy in 2000 against Australia. His also gave a special mention to his first batch selectors who spotted the potential in the youngster.

Yuvraj tweeted, “I think we should all thank @SGanguly99 and the first batch of my selectors for giving me this opportunity!”

Meanwhile, Harbhajan Singh, who has shared the dressing room with Yuvraj Singh for almost a decade trolled India selectors. Yuvraj always had a complaint with the way he was handled during the last few years of his career.

The legendary all-rounder was always in and out from the squad and never got a long run in the Indian team. Harbhajan Singh sarcastically took a dig at the selectors who were part of the selection panel during the last few years of Yuvraj’s career. 

Yuvraj Singh retired his announcement from international cricket in 2019. The elegant left-handed batsmen played a crucial role in India winning the 2007 T20 and 2011 world cup respectively. Yuvraj overall played 304 matches in which he amassed 8701 including 14 ODI hundreds.
