Hardik Pandya has joined the Mumbai Indians camp ahead of the 2024 Indian Premier League season, which kicks off on March 22. He will be leading the Mumbai Indians in the upcoming tournament, taking over the leadership duties from Rohit Sharma

Hardik was traded in by the Mumbai Indians from the Gujarat Titans ahead of the IPL auctions. He led the Gujarat Titans to a title win in their maiden season in 2022 and also took them to the finals in the 2023 season. Ahead of the 2024 season, the all-rounder joined the Mumbai Indians camp to train with the team.

The franchise shared a video of the newly appointed skipper on social media. In the video. Sharing the video, they wrote, “चला सुरु करूया #OneFamily #MumbaiIndians @hardikpandya7” (Let’s get started)

Hardik Pandya has played 123 Indian Premier League matches, scoring 2309 runs at a strike rate of 145.86. He has ten fifties to his name in the tournament. Talking about his bowling performance, he has taken 53 wickets. His best bowling figure 3/17 came against the Rajasthan Royals for the Gujarat Titans in the finals of the 2022 Indian Premier League season.

Mumbai Indians to kick off 2024 IPL campaign against Gujarat Titans

Hardik Pandya’s first match as Mumbai Indians skipper will be against his previous franchise, Gujarat Titans. The clash will take place on Sunday, March 24 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The Mumbai Indians finished fourth on the points table last season. However, they lost to the Gujarat Titans in the second Qualifier.
