Renowned cricket commentator Harsha Bhoga has picked his playing XI for the ODI and T20I series against Sri Lanka in July. The limited-overs tour to Sri Lanka has grabbed a lot of attention considering that BCCI will send their second-string side with the Test players busy with the Test series against England.

Hence, many big names like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah will not travel to the island nation, and BCCI will announce a squad with several fresh faces. Harsha Bhogla believes despite not having the likes of Kohli, Rohit, and Bumrah, India can form a formidable squad to beat Sri Lanka.

For ODIs, the commentator picked Delhi Capitals duo Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan in the opening slot following their brilliant show during IPL 2021. Suryakumar Yadav, Sanju Samson, and Manish Pandey found a place in the middle-order while Harsha Bhogle went with Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya for the all-rounder’s slot.

While Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav were the two spinners in Bhogle’s XI, Deepak Chahar and Bhuvneshwar Kumar have been named as pacers. Both the pacers have done exceedingly well in recent times and will look to make an impression in the absence of first-choice bowlers.

Meanwhile, Harsha Bhogle didn’t make much of a change in his T20I squad. Rajasthan Royals all-rounder Rahul Tewatia walked in the playing XI in place of Manish Pandey. Among the bowlers, Varun Chakravarthy replaced his KKR teammate Kuldeep Yadav while Bhogle was not sure between Chahal and Rahul Chahar.
