England Add Two More Players To Test Squad For New Zealand Series

The England Cricket Team has added two more players to their Test squad against New Zealand. They have roped in Sam Billings and Haseeb Hameed to join them for the two-Test match series against the Kiwis. It was to an extent forceful after England wicketkeeper-batsman Ben Foakes was ruled out of the series after tearing his left hamstring. While Billings is yet to play his first test, Hameed last played a Test match for England back in 2016 against India.

The England squad for the two-Test match series against New Zealand was announced earlier this month. Joe Root is back to leading the side with senior players Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes being a part of the squad. Jofra Archer has been ruled out of the series with his ailing elbow injury.

Meanwhile, the Kiwi side will play two Test matches before heading into the WTC final between June 18-22. The series will get them adjusted to the playing conditions which works in their favour ahead of the big final.

Meanwhile, Team India is currently undergoing their mandatory quarantine period in Mumbai before heading to the UK on June 2. While The Indian team will directly head into the WTC final, the Kiwi squad will play a two-Test match series with the first match set to be played between June 2-6 at Lord’s. The second Test at Edgbaston will be played between June 10-14.

After hosting New Zealand for two Tests, England will play a five-Test match series against India with the series starting on August 4. The first Test will be played at Trent Bridge, second at Lord’s, third at Headlingly and fourth at The Oval and fifth at Manchester.

Later this year in England will face off Australia in an Ashes series as well down under. They then play England in an Ashes series comprising of five Test matches between 8 December to 18 January. The final Test match will be played at Perth.
