Sunil Gavaskar, while performing his duties for the IPL 2024, discussed Virat Kohli’s career once more, this time bringing MS Dhoni into the picture. It appears that he has attempted to revive the RCB-CSK rivalry in his way.

He claimed that MS Dhoni’s assistance helped Virat Kohli get his career back on track. He further claimed that Kohli had a stop-start career.

For more than ten years, Virat Kohli has served as India’s lucky charm. Most people consider the 35-year-old hitter to be the best of this generation. For quite some time now, Virat Kohli has undoubtedly been India’s best batsman, having surpassed Sachin Tendulkar in some areas.

He has frequently performed well for India. With a career spanning 15 years and almost 25,000 runs scored, Kohli has experienced his fair share of highs and lows.

As part of his responsibilities for the IPL 2024, Sunil Gavaskar shared his opinions about Virat Kohli. According to Gavaskar, Kohli’s career had a slow start after making his debut for India in 2008. The Little Master has given respect to former India captain MS Dhoni for having faith in the ability and skill of Virat Kohli. According to Gavaskar, Dhoni gave Kohli an extra boost in his career.

“When Virat Kohli started his career, it was a stop-start career. The fact that MS Dhoni gave him that little extra momentum is why he is the Kohli we see today” Sunil Gavaskar said on Star Sports.

The statements made by Sunil Gavaskar about Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni coincide with the two legends’ scheduled IPL 2024 matchup. On May 18, 2024, RCB and CSK will play in a possible knockout match at Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

On Saturday, Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni will square off; the match is set to begin at 19:30 IST.
