In the Indian Premier League (IPL), Virat Kohli made history by being the first player to score an incredible 3000 runs at one location. Kohli’s remarkable accomplishment highlights his unmatched reliability and supremacy throughout the competition.

During the IPL 2024 encounter at M Chinnaswamy Stadium versus the Chennai Super Kings on Saturday, the top Royal Challengers Bengaluru batter accomplished the feat. He beat Tushar Deshpande with a huge six-over-long leg to reach the benchmark.

With 2295 runs at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, former Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma is the second-best run-scorer at a single venue. It is noteworthy that South African icon and longtime colleague of Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, ranks third for most runs scored in an IPL match at a single stadium.

At the Chinnaswamy Stadium, De Villiers has amassed 1960 runs, underscoring the strong friendship that he and Kohli have developed over time.

Daryl Mitchell grabs a superb catch to dismiss Virat Kohli

In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 encounter between the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday, Daryl Mitchell made a brilliant catch to dismiss Virat Kohli. With four sixes and three boundaries in his 47 runs off 29 balls, Kohli’s innings came to an end with the catch.

The dismissal occurred in the RCB innings’ tenth over. As Kohli was preparing for the whip, Mitchell Santner delivered a crisp delivery that sailed in and twirled away from the leg stump. The ball floated down to Mitchell at long-on as the right-hander played against the turn, closing the face of the bat but only managing a huge edge.

Mitchell retreated and accepted the grab, keeping his gaze fixed on the ball. It dawned on the New Zealander that he was walking on thin ice. He launched the ball into the air, returned, and grabbed the rebound.

After winning the toss, CSK decided to bowl first against RCB, substituting Mitchell Santner for Moeen Ali. Glenn Maxwell has taken Will Jacks’ place at the RCB, and Swapnil Singh has been added as an impact substitute.
