India batter Rinku Singh commended Rohit Sharma for his support for young cricketers. According to Singh, Rohit has been incredibly helpful and encouraging to the youth, especially following the T20 World Cup snub. Rinku only had action as a reserve player for the highly anticipated T20 World Cup 2024, despite being predicted as a Team India finisher ahead to the Afghanistan home series earlier this year.

Rinku has barely failed for his country’s squad since making his short-form debut in 2003. With a remarkable average of 89 and a strike rate of over 176, he has played in 15 Twenty20 Internationals and scored 356 runs. He has averaged 18.50 after 14 matches with a strike rate of 148, indicating that he has not played at the best of his abilities in the IPL 2024.

Speaking with Dainik Jagaran. India batter Rinku Singh discussed his feelings after missing out on the T20 World Cup and disclosed India captain Rohit Sharma’s message to him. Rinku stated that Rohit encouraged him to keep working hard and not make too much of the snub because there would be another World Cup after two years.

“Yes, anyone feels a little bad if he is not selected despite good performance. However, this time I could not get selected due to the team combination. It is okay, one should not think too much about things that are not in one’s hands. Yes, I was a little upset in the beginning” Rinku Singh said.

“Whatever happened is fine. Whatever happens, happens for good. Rohit Bhaiya did not say anything special. He only said that just keep working hard. There is a World Cup again after two years. There is no need to worry too much. This is what he said to me,” Rinku Singh told Dainik Jagaran after winning the Indian Premier League 2024 title.

“The whole world has seen how good his captaincy is. If I talk about myself, I have done only one tour with him so far. I have not even talked to him much. He supports the youth a lot. He only wants the youth to do well and he always says that play, do well,” Rinku Singh Added,

Rinku is one of India’s traveling reserves for the T20 World Cup, and he was the only member of the contingent to play in the IPL season’s last match.
