India’s World Cup campaign came to an end after a semi-final loss against the Kiwis today. A lot of former cricketers and Indian fans are disappointed at the performance of the team today. The margin of loss was just 18 runs and their golden run was halted by kiwis who displayed sheer brilliance on the field. Though the overcast conditions played a role on Tuesday, a reserve day helped to obtain a possible result for the game. But it wasn’t in favour of the Indian side at last.
Indian skipper Virat Kohli was seen dejected in the press conference as well in the post-match presentation. Whatever he made sure to thank all the fans for their continuous support throughout the tournament. It is to be noted that though the tournament is currently happening in the United Kingdom, a lot of Indians turned out in huge numbers and the skipper is extremely happy and thankful for the same.
Kohli admitted to the little mistakes committed in today’s game and said that 45-minutes of struggle on the field cost them the final ticket. In his latest social media post, Virat thanked all the fans of Indian cricket team for supporting them through the good as well as bad times. He also said that the emotions are shared along with the millions of fans and gave everything on the field to achieve the desired result.
Firstly I want to thank all our fans who came in huge numbers to support the team. You made it a memorable tournament for all of us & we definitely felt the love showered upon the team. We are all disappointed & share the same emotions as you. We gave everything we had.Jai hind🇮🇳 pic.twitter.com/rFwxiUdqK5
