Former Indian wicket-keeper Kiran More has showered praise on all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who recently guided Gujarat Titans (GT) to the IPL 2022 title in their maiden appearances. Hardik has led the team from the front with his all-round performances.
After suffering from injuries and poor form in the 2021 season, the 28-year-old was not retained by Mumbai Indians (MI). The Titans roped him as one of the pre-draft picks and appointed him as the captain.
Reviewing Hardik Pandya’s performance in IPL 2022, Kiran More stated that Hardik has now evolved from a ‘3D cricketer’ to a ‘4D cricketer’. Speaking on the SG Podcast, the 59-year-old said:
Hardik Pandya finished with 487 runs in 15 matches at an average of 44.27, including four half-centuries. The ace all-rounder also picked up eight wickets, including the figure of 3/17 in the final against Rajasthan Royals.
“It was outstanding” – Kiran More on Gujarat Titans’ game in IPL 2022
Kiran More, who featured in 49 Tests and 94 ODIs for India, lauded the total cricket Gujarat Titans played in their first season in the IPL. He elaborated:
“The best moment for me in IPL 15 was the way Gujarat Titans played cricket. It was outstanding. And especially with Hardik becoming a captain and lifting the trophy, his personal performance was equally brilliant. Going from Mumbai Indians to Gujarat Titans, it’s not that easy to go and lead the new team and straightaway win the championship.”
