The Netherlands Cricket Board (KNCB) is inviting seam bowlers and mystery spinners to join their ICC ODI World Cup 2023 training camp in Alur as net bowlers. It is a first-of-its-kind advertisement by a cricket board to invite applications for new bowlers. The Netherlands team will have a five-day pre-World Cup camp from September 20-24 in Alur.
It is a convention in cricket in cricket for the local state associations to provide net bowlers for the visiting teams. However, the Netherlands board (KNCB) has adopted an innovative approach to tackle the concern of net bowlers for the tour. Taking to ‘X’, formerly Twitter, they put out an advertisement inviting a left-arm seamer, right-arm seamer, mystery spinner and a left-arm spinner for their preparatory camp.
The bowlers will have to share their videos on the mentioned link before September 17. The Netherlands board also pointed out several criteria for the bowlers; pacers bowling over 120kmph, and spinners bowling above 80kmph. They wrote on ‘X’, “If you can bowl and want to be a part of the team’s ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023 preparations, then head over to the link below and upload your video”
