The ICC ODI World Cup 2023 final is all set to take place between India and Australia on Sunday, November 19 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. India has dominated the tournament so far, heading into the final unbeaten. Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood expressed that the Rohit Sharmaled team has no weaknesses.

India defeated New Zealand by 70 runs in the semi-final at the Wankhede Stadium to advance to the final. This will be their fourth ODI World Cup final, including the 2003 against Australia. Ahead of the marquee clash, Josh Hazlewood spoke about the Indian team. He expressed that it would be challenging for them to get over the line in the final. Hazlewood said as quoted by News18,

“We’ve played them a lot of times. We know them inside out, same with them. They’re a quality team, they’ve been on a march the whole tournament, no real weaknesses in their team, so, yeah, look forward to playing them on Sunday. I guess we saw a few cracks when we played them in Chennai chasing a small target, we were lucky enough to get a couple early.”

Josh Hazlewood opens up about his camaraderie with Mitchell Starc

Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood also spoke about his camaraderie with fellow pacer Mitchell Starc. He expressed that the two have played with each other for a long time, and hopes they can perform well for the team in the final. Hazlewood has taken 14 wickets in 10 matches in the tournament so far, while Starc has picked up 13 in nine matches.

“Starc and I have bowled together for a long time now, we know each other’s games, and we both play well on the same night, which is pleasing. Hopefully, we can do that on Sunday as well, but… yeah, there’s a little bit in the wicket which we probably haven’t had, in the previous games, or in a couple here and there, but it was nice to get the ball on,” said Josh Hazlewood.
