Indian Players like Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Shardul Thakur, and Shreyas Iyer, along with coach Rahul Dravid, spent time with children at Wankhede Stadium before their 2023 World Cup match against Sri Lanka on November 2.
The ICC and UNICEF, with support from the BCCI and Sri Lanka cricket, are collaborating on the ‘One Day 4 Children’ initiative. Wankhede Stadium will be illuminated in blue to promote awareness during the World Cup about the significance of giving children opportunities for development and a promising future.
In a video shared by the ICC, Shreyas Iyer discussed the initiative and his childhood aspirations of interacting with legendary cricketers. Ishan Kishan and the rest of the players were also captured enjoying their time with the children, creating memorable moments for them to treasure.
