The hero from the inaugural edition of the ICC World T20 in 2007, Joginder Sharma has once again hit the headlines this time for fighting against the pandemic coronavirus. Meanwhile, the outbreak of the COVID-19 has cost more than 25000 lives with more than 600000 positive cases in the entire world.

India have already witnessed more than 1000 cases registered with a death toll of 20. Currently working as the Deputy Superintendent of police in Haryana, Joginder Sharma is actively helping India in its fight against coronavirus pandemic.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) took to their official Twitter handle and shared a collage of Joginder Sharma hailing them as the real hero for his contribution to the society.

“2007: #T20WorldCup hero 2020: Real-world hero. In his post-cricket career as a policeman, India’s Joginder Sharma is among those doing their bit amid a global health crisis,” ICC tweeted.

Previously, he 36-year-old etched his name in the history of cricket in his short career. He bowled the final over against Pakistan in 2007 T20 World Cup and helped Team India in becoming the World Champions. He got Misbah-ul-Haq out in the penultimate delivery of the over to turn the table in India’s favour and bring home the trophy.
