The highly anticipated India-Pakistan clash in the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup is all set to be preponed by a day. Along with this, Pakistan’s match against Sri Lanka too is likely to be rescheduled, as per reports. The mega-event will take place later this year from October 5 to November 19 in India.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the schedule for the ODI World Cup through an event in Mumbai last month. However, recently, BCCI secretary Jay Shah announced that some matches will be rescheduled. He shared that some countries complained of logistical challenges, which prompted making changes to the schedule. The revised schedule is likely to be announced in a few days.
According to RevSportz, Pakistan’s match against Sri Lanka will be preponed by a couple of days. The match was scheduled to take place on October 12 in Hyderabad. However, it will now take place on October 10 at the same venue. Meanwhile, the India-Pakistan match will take place on October 14 in Ahmedabad. It was earlier scheduled to be played on Sunday, October 15.

No E-tickets for ICC ODI World Cup 2023
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah confirmed that the spectators have to procure physical tickets for the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. They will have to show the tickets at the entry gates at stadiums for entries during the event. There will be no provision for e-tickets for the World Cup. Speaking to ANI, Jay Shah said,
“We cannot do e-tickets this time. We would make arrangements so that tickets can be redeemed at various places a week before. It would make things hassle-free.”
“It will get difficult to manage e-tickets at high-capacity venues like Ahmedabad and Lucknow. Our plan is to start using e-tickets more in bilaterals first and then take it to multi-nation events like the World Cup,” he added.
