The other big surprise inclusions were Varun Chakravarty and Shardul Thakur in the squad. Meanwhile, MS Dhoni will be playing for Chennai Super Kings in the UAE leg of the IPL. His prior experience of winning ICC titles will be a big boost for Virat Kohli who is still seeking his first.
Ashwin’s inclusion comes as a big surprise as he was not in the scheme of things. He last played white-ball cricket for India way back in 2017 and has ot6 been picked in the XI for the Test series against England as well.
The mega T20 event slated to commence on October 17 will take place in the UAE and Oman. The final of the much-anticipated tournament is on November 14. Previously, it was scheduled to take place in India; however, it was rescheduled considering the COVID-19 crisis in India.
Team India last won an ICC title way back in 2013 which was the ICC Champions Trophy. Since then India succumbed two big losses in the ICC 2017 Champions Trophy final and the ICC 2019 World Cup semi-final.
