Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are playing their first Super 12 game after making it through to the main round going through the qualifiers. The Lankan skipper won the toss and opted to bowl first. Meanwhile, Lahiru Kumara, one of the premier pacers in the match, made his presence felt pretty early.

Lahiru Kumara came into the bowl the final over of the powerplay. He bowled with some pace and in the fourth delivery of his innings threw one to Bangladesh opener Mohammad Sheikh out of anger.

This made the other opener Liton Das angry. He went after Kumara in the very next ball and in the process lost his wicket. This was when Kumara had a stare-off with Das and both of them did not back out of the challenge. The pace got him caught inside the circle and did give a send-off and ultimately it was the Lankan fielders who had to separate the two.

The environment has been really good, we are in a very good mood. The youngsters are doing a good job and they are very confident as well” said Lankan skipper Dasun Shanaka after winning the toss.

“We need to adapt to the conditions that we are going to face. Hopefully, it’ll be a good one to bat on. Bit of a relief after the first loss. The boys are relaxed and quite free now, hopefully, we can come out here and be disciplined” said Bangladesh skipper Manmudullah.
