Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra recently picked India’s squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 scheduled to take place in Australia later this year. With a lot of talents coming up the ranks and proving their worth, the selectors will face the difficult task of picking the squad.
Chopra named Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul as obvious choices in the batting unit. Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav and Shreyas Iyer also named it to Aakash Chopra’s squad for the T20 World Cup. All three have been in scintillating form of late and deserves to get a go-ahead for the mega event.
Rishabh Pant was picked as the wicket-keeper batsman in the squad as expectedly. The 44-year-old cricketer-turned-commentator further added that Ravindra Jadeja will be sure shot contender for a place in the Indian squad.
Along with Jadeja, Aakash Chopra placed his bet on Hardik Pandya and Venkatesh Iyer as the two other all-rounders.
Speaking of the bowling line-up, Chopra believes Jasprit Bumrah will lead the pace attack while the spin duties will lie on the shoulders of Yuzvendra Chahal. He also added that one out of Bhuvneshwar Kumar or Deepak Chahar will find a place in the Indian side.
Aakash Chopra feels one out of Prasidh Krishna, Mohammed Siraj, or Avesh Khan will find a slot in the squad as well. The former KKR batsman then said that one out of Mohammed Shami, T Natarajan, or Khaleel Ahmed can be picked.
