Australia are the reigning T20 World Cup champions.

The first-round matches of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 is slated to start on October 16, 2022. It will be a great competition as eight teams will compete for two sports in the Super 12 stage of the marquee T20 competition.

Group A of the qualifier comprises Namibia, Netherlands, Sri Lanka, and the United Arab Emirates. United Arab Emirates qualified from Global Qualifier A, which took place in Oman from February 18 to 24, 2022. Namibia and Sri Lanka made it into the qualifying rounds.

Ireland and Zimbabwe made it into the qualifying round after reaching the final of the Global qualifier B tournament played in Zimbabwe from July 11 to 17, 2022. Scotland and West Indies did not finish in the top 8 rankings after T20 World Cup played in 2021.
