Team India have done really well in the longer format and in the recent ICC Test rankings, it was shown as well. Veteran India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin earned 43 rating points as he reached a total of 883 points and ranked second behind top-placed bowler Pat Cummins.
However, he is 67 points ahead of third-placed pace bowler Josh Hazelwood in the MRF Tyres ICC Men’s Test Player Rankings as well. Ashwin also jumped up one place to take second place in the all-rounders’ list whereas Ravindra Jadeja moved down to fourth as well.

Meanwhile, opening batsman Mayank Agarwal and New Zealand left-arm spinner Ajaz Patel has jumped up in the latest rankings after the two-match Test series which was great on an individual front for Patel after claiming 14 wickets in the match as well. On the other hand, after a mediocre first Test in Kanpur, Mayank Agarwal registered scores of 150 and 62 runs in both the innings of the second Test at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai as well.
However, Mayank’s fighting knocks on a turning pitch helped India post 325 runs in the first innings and win the second Test and clinch the series 1-0 also. Mayank reached 30 spots up and placed at 11th in the latest men’s rankings. Shubman Gill too earned 21 places to stay at 45th while pace bowler Mohammad Siraj also moved up to occupy the 41st spot as well.
Ajaz Patel, who made a record after claiming a 10-wicket haul in an innings in the Mumbai Test, moved up 23 slots to 38th position in the Test bowler’s rankings as well. However, he made headlines with his feat and became only the third player in the history of Test cricket to do so as well.
