Former Indian pacer S Sreesanth has been part of various memorable wins during his cricketing career. Sreesanth won the T20 World Cup in 2007 and the ODI World Cup in 2011 as a player. He played a crucial part in both the wins of the Indian team. He was part of the playing XI in both the finals of T20 WC and ODI WC which India won under MS Dhoni.

Sreesanth produced one of the most memorable spells by an Indian in the semi-final tie against Australia at the 2007 World T20. While talking on CricChat on the ShareChat platform, the controversial cricketer talked about his experience of winning World Cups for India.

He further said that if he was part of the Indian team under Virat’s captaincy, India would have won the 2015,2019 and 2021 World Cups. Sreesanth said, “If I would have been a part of the team under Virat’s captaincy, India would have won the World Cup in 2015, 2019 & 2021.”

Sreesanth also talked about how there is a lack of role models in Kerala for youngsters. The right-arm pacer revealed that he is guiding several youngsters in Kerala which also includes Sanju Samson. Further talking about ODI WC 2011, Sreesanth said, “We won that World Cup for Sachin Tendulkar.”


“My coach taught me to bowl Yorkers with tennis balls” – Sreesanth 

Sreesanth also gave tips for youngsters on how to bowl a good yorker. Sreesanth gave an example of Jasprit Bumrah and talked about the importance of doing consistent practice. The former Indian pacer revealed that visualising plays a crucial role in cricket.

Sreesanth stated that he liked practicing in smaller regions to stay away from distractions. The former India cricketer said, “It is important to visualize while playing and small regions do not make any difference. Rather it is better to learn such tricks here, given there are a few distractions. My coach taught me how to throw Yorkers with tennis balls.”
