Michael Vaughan is known for coming up with the most controversial of comments. Ahead of the first Test between India and England at Trent Bridge, Vaughan came up with another such comment. Previewing the Test series for Cricbuzz, Vaughan has said that if India cant beat this England side with key players missing, they should go home. England are missing the likes of Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer, Chris Woakes and Moeen Ali from the squad that has been announced for the series.

India have lost their last three-Test series in England in 2011, 2014 and 2018. However, cricket experts are favouring the Virat Kohli-led side to win this series against Joe Root‘s men. India have also made a good start to the series by bowling the hosts out for 183 on day 1 of the first Test.

Michael Vaughan Predicts Test Series Result

“I’m going to put India under a huge amount of pressure. If they can’t beat this England side, with the team that they have, on the back of winning in Australia (twice), on the back of the unfortunate incidents in in terms of Ben Stokes missing out, no Chris Woakes – his record in the UK is exceptional, no Jofra Archer… if India can’t beat this England side, on the back of New Zealand winning here decently, they should go home, simple as that,” Vaughan told Cricbuzz in the build-up to the series.

Meanwhile, there are injury concerns for both teams with Stokes and Archer missing from the England team. For the Indian team, Shubman Gill and Washington Sundar have been ruled out due to injuries as well.

On the other hand, Ravichandran Ashwin missing from the India XI for the first Test has triggered a lot of reactions on Twitter. It has also divided the opinion of cricket experts all over the world. Jadeja was chosen ahead of Ashwin because of his batter batting prowess. He bowled just three overs in the first innings.
