The Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab encounter has so far been the best game of this season. Quality batting and power hitting, it was a match of a combination of all sorts. Rajasthan won the toss and elected to bowl first on the Sharjah track.

Kings XI Punjab opening batsmen started the first innings in utmost style as Mayank Agarwal Notched up a ton after missing out on one. They posed a target of 224 runs to the Rajasthan Royals side. A steller chase was expected as Rajasthan Royals were up for the highest chase in the history of the Indian Premier League.

The Royals chase started off with Buttler losing his very early on in the innings but then it was the Sanju Samson and Steve Smith show as he scored some quickfire runs to match the run rate which was cruising over after over. When Smith lost his wicket in the 8th over, a surprise package was thrown in the form of Rahul Tewatia.

Tewatia couldn’t get going initially but then came the Sheldon Cottrell over where Rahul Tewatia smashed five sixes in one over to pull the game back in Rajasthan’s favour. Out and all it was a sensational performance overshadowing Sanju Samson’s knock of 85 runs.

The man of the match of this ridiculous run chase is Sanju Samson who at the post-match presentation that since he stuck to his training routine during the lockdown he’s feeling more confident. He’s happy to win a few games for his side and looks to contribute as much as he can for the years cricket left in him.

“I have been hitting it well for the past one year. So I was just sticking to my routine and feeling confident. I am happy to win a few games. I did a lot of soul searching after being frustrated at trying stuff. So I decided if I had ten more years of cricket left in me, I want to go back and give my everything,” Samson said.
