Ever wondered how you could be born with all the talent in the world. But injuries would stop you from making it big? In Cricket we’ve seen a lot of player’s careers getting tarnished or short-lived because of serious injuries. No matter how talented you’re, if you struggle with injuries then prolonging your career will be one of the hardest things to do.
Such is the story of young fast bowling sensation Kamlesh Nagarkoti. He is hailed as the next big thing in Indian cricket because of his ability to bowl with the sheer pace at such a young age.
Excited to play for KKR – Nagarkoti
But ever since he rose to fame in 2018 after the U19 World Cup, Nagarkoti has been struggling with some serious injuries. As a result, he has missed two IPL seasons. Well, despite not playing a single IPL game in last two seasons, Kolkata Knight Riders have still instilled faith in him and retained him for the 2020 IPL season.
Recently Nagarkoti appeared on KKR’s official video, where he spoke about how he’s waited for two years to reach this point. Finally, in the 2020 IPL season, Nagarkoti will finally play his first game in the IPL after nearly 3 years with the KKR side. Kamlesh understands the importance of returning from an injury and wants to make the most of it.
“I’m very excited as I’ve waited two years for this moment. Finally, I have the opportunity to play. So I’m very excited. I was practising in Mumbai and speaking regularly with Abhishek bhaiya on how I should prepare mentally after the injury. He has already made me understand some things, and I always pay attention to what he says.”
Kamlesh was also seen talking about the back injury which cost him two years of cricket. Earlier this week KKR CEO also spoke about how Rahul Dravid hails Kamlesh Nagarkoti as one of the best fielders in the Indian circuit at the moment. With the IPL just a few weeks away, everyone is looking forward to watching Kamlesh in the upcoming IPL in the UAE.
