Over the years the Indian cricket team has produced gun fielders. From Mohammed Kaif to Yuvraj Singh to Suresh Raina to Ravindra Jadeja, we have seen great fielders produced by India. If we look at the current Indian side, about 7-8 players would easily come under the category of best fielders in the world at present.
In today’s date, fielding has become such an important aspect of the game that captains want better fielders in the side. A tradition started by MS Dhoni when he took over the captaincy, followed by Virat Kohli at present.
Kamlesh Nagarkoti is one of the best fielders: Rahul Dravid
Recently, KKR CEO Venky Mysore revealed that according to Rahul Dravid, emerging pacer Kamlesh Nagarkoti is one of the best fielders coming up the ranks. ‘The Wall’ compared him to the likes of Jadeja, who is India’s best fielder at present.
He further mentioned how Kamlesh Nagarkoti is like a son to him and is a bright prospect. Dravid also added that he is looking forward to watching him bowl this year in the IPL.
“One guy that we are completely looking forward to seeing in action is Kamlesh Nagarkoti. He is an unbelievable young kid, he is like a son to me. People who have seen him bowl, the pace at which he bowls, and he can really bat.
But most importantly Rahul Dravid had told me that he is one of the best fielders going around in India. He would compete with the likes of Jadeja, which is a big statement from someone like Rahul Dravid,” Venky Mysore said.
With the IPL starting next month in the UAE, we will soon get a glimpse of Nagarkoti the fielder as we’re already aware of his bowling credentials. Nagarkoti’s form would play a key role if Kolkata Knight Riders were to lift their 3rd IPL trophy.
