In the wake of the MI game, a purported Kohli-related tweet from Naveen went viral. The internet-shattering post has now been revealed by Naveen.

The Lucknow Super Giants lost to Mumbai Indians at the Chepauk this year, failing to advance past the Eliminator for the second straight IPL season. Despite having a hit-and-miss season, Naveen-ul-Haq provided Krunal Pandya’s team with a reliable pace bowling option.

He took 11 wickets in just eight games while maintaining an economy rate of 7.82. Even though they were taken in a losing effort, four of those wickets came in that MI match. An alleged tweet from him about Virat Kohli went viral after the game, which also marked the conclusion of his first IPL season. The internet-shattering post has now been made public by Naveen.

During their IPL match on May 1 in Lucknow during Naveen’s rookie season, the two got into a heated argument. No matter where LSG played, ever since the infamous incident, the crowd would repeatedly chant Kohli’s name to enrage Naveen.

During the Eliminator tie, it also occurred in Chennai, Kolkata, Lucknow, Hyderabad, and Hyderabad. Naveen never responded to it directly, but each time he took a wicket against Mumbai, he gave a sharp reaction by clapping his hands together and covering his ears in celebration.

“I’m sorry Virat Kohli sir,” was posted on Twitter after the game by the user @naveenulhaq66. It gained over 25000 likes very quickly after going viral. The internet could not stop discussing the response because the account also had a blue tick.

On his Instagram story on Saturday, Naveen posted a screenshot of the Twitter account and explained that it was a “fake account,” advising followers to report it if they ever received any messages from it. The account has now been suspended from Twitter, so that’s good.

Naveen did, however, speak out about the Kohli chants heard from the crowd following the game against Mumbai.

He said: “I enjoy it” during the post-game press conference earlier this week. I enjoy hearing the crowd chant a player’s name, whether it be Virat Kohli’s name or another player’s name. My desire to perform well for my team is stoked by this. “
