Sarfaraz Khan, who recently made an impactful Test debut against England with two half-centuries in Rajkot, delighted the crowd on Day 3 of the ongoing fourth Test in Ranchi on February 25. This happened as he took a spectacular diving catch to dismiss Tom Hartley.

During the 41st over of England’s second innings, the left-arm wrist-spinner delivered a flighted ball, prompting Hartley to attempt a big shot towards long-on. Sarfaraz made a diving catch and, in celebration, blew a kiss towards the stands.

The remarkable catch concluded Hartley’s brief time at the crease, as he scored seven runs off 25 balls, putting the visitors in a challenging position at 133/7. You can watch the video here:

England sets a target of 192 runs for India in the Ranchi Test

A 46-run lead in the first innings enabled England to establish a target of 192 runs for India in the second innings on Day 3. During the second innings, the team led by Ben Stokes was dismissed for 145 in 53.5 overs.

Zak Crawley led the scoring with 60 runs off 91 balls, featuring seven boundaries. Ravichandran Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav made significant contributions with the ball, taking a five-wicket haul and a four-wicket haul, respectively.

In their initial innings, England posted a total of 353 runs. Joe Root played a pivotal role, contributing 122 runs off 274 balls, featuring 10 boundaries. Ollie Robinson, Ben Foakes, and Zak Crawley made additional contributions with scores of 58 (96), 47 (126), and a run-a-ball 42, respectively.

Ravindra Jadeja showcased a strong bowling performance for India, securing a four-wicket haul, while Akash Deep and Mohammed Siraj took three and two wickets, respectively.

In reply, the home team was dismissed for 307 in the initial innings. Dhruv Jurel led the scoring with 90 runs off 149 balls, hitting four sixes and six boundaries. Yashasvi Jaiswal also made a notable contribution with 73 runs off 117 balls, including six and eight boundaries.

Kuldeep Yadav provided valuable support with a crucial 28 off 131, participating in a significant 76-run partnership with Jurel for the eighth wicket. Shoaib Bashir claimed a five-wicket haul for England, while Tom Hartley and James Anderson secured three and two wickets, respectively.
