Team India will lock horns with England in the rescheduled fifth Test at Edgbaston in Birmingham, which starts on July 1 (Friday). The visiting team lead the series 2-1 and a draw is enough for the team to win its fourth series on English soil. England, on the other hand, also come from a dominating 3-0 series against New Zealand earlier this month.
England couldn’t be more delighted about the timing of this. Such was last summer that even Joe Root at his peak wasn’t enough to salvage games for them. This is a different year under Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum, and England are playing a completely different brand of cricket.
The home side comes from a massive series win and will be oozing with confidence ahead of the game against India. James Anderson has returned to the playing XI in place of Jamie Overston after missing the third Test against India.

India, on the other hand, will miss the service of Rohit Sharma, who has been ruled out after testing positive for COVID-19. Jasprit Bumrah will lead the team in his absence while Rishabh Pant will be his deputy. The visitors had a decent run in the warm-up game against Leicestershire and will hope to carry the momentum going.
