Having won both of their previous Tests in Visakhapatnam, India aims for a comeback following a narrow 28-run loss to England in the series opener in Hyderabad last week.
Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul will be absent from the Test match in Visakhapatnam for India
England leads the five-match series 1-0 after a remarkable win in Hyderabad. Adding to the host’s challenges, senior players Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul will be absent in the second game.Ā Jadeja suffered a hamstring injury, while Rahul experienced pain in his right quadriceps, ruling both out for the Vizag Test.
In their place, reinforcements include Sarfaraz Khan, Washington Sundar, and Sourabh Kumar. The second Test is scheduled at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium from February 2 to 6. Ollie Pope delivered an outstanding batting performance in the second innings for England, scoring an impressive 196 runs. India fell short of the 231-run target in the fourth innings, getting dismissed for 202 late on Day 4.
Debutant left-arm spinner Tom Hartley excelled, claiming a remarkable seven-wicket haul against India’s batting lineup. Despite Hartley’s performance, Ollie Pope was awarded the Player of the Match for his exceptional batting display.
