After successful completion of the T20Is, India and South Africa will lock horns in a three-match ODI series, starting on October 6 in Lucknow. The hosts will be without their first-team players, who have left for Australia for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2022.
The Men in Blue will be led by veteran opener Shikhar Dhawan, while Shreyas Iyer has been appointed as his deputy. Ruturaj Gaikwad, Avesh Khan, Ravi Bishnoi, Shahbaz Ahmed, Rajat Patidar, and Mukesh Kumar are the new faces in the squad and are yet to make their ODI debuts.
South Africa, on the other hand, have retained a similar squad that played in the T20Is. They won the last game after losing the first two matches and will hope to keep the winning momentum going in the ODIs.
The two sides have met against each other on 87 occasions in the ODI format. India have won 35 matches, while the Proteas have ended on a winning note 49 times. Three matches have ended without a result.
