Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) all-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed impressed everyone with his performance in the last two Indian Premier League (IPL) seasons. He has given important breakthroughs to RCB and also played impactful knocks with the bat. He was big reason why RCB reached playoffs of IPL 2022.

However, it was not easy for Shahbaz. He faced several challenges in his path. The all-rounder’s college professors didn’t encourage him to take the profession of a cricketer.

Shahbaz Ahmed’s father Ahmed Jan recently shared an interesting story from the college days of Shahbaz Ahmed. He revealed that Shahbaz was a bright student during college days and his professor didn’t want him to take cricket as a profession. However, Shahbaz believed in himself and got selected for RCB.

Shahbaz Ahmed’s father said, “Even his college professors told him that it was a mistake because he was a good student. Shahbaz told his head of department that ‘one day you will give me my degree and also felicitate me.’ And last year it happened.”

The all-rounder from Bengal scored 219 runs in 16 matches and shared some good partnerships in the lower order. Shahbaz Ahmed also picked up four wickets with the ball.
