Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh are facing each other in the third quarter-final of the ongoing season of Ranji Trophy.  The Manish Pandey-led side has a star-studded playing XI, including India cricketers Mayank Agarwal and Karun Nair.

However, Mayank Agarwal failed to do so. He managed to score just 10 runs in 41 balls before he was dismissed by Shivam Mavi. Mayank looked uncomfortable in most of his stay at the crease in the quarterfinal.

Mayank Agarwal also faced an injury scare during this quarterfinal. He was hit on the ribs on the bowling of Shivam Mavi. On the last ball of the seventh over, Mavi bowled a quick short ball on his legs. Mayank jumped in the air and tried to glance at the ball, but the ball hit his ribs hard.

Mayank was seen in a lot of pain. Karnataka physio was called on the ground. He applied an ice pack on the injured area to give relief to Mayank. Eventually, after a few minutes, Mayank got up and washed his face to get ready to bat again. The video of this incident was shared by BCCI on their website.

Captain Manish Pandey couldn’t contribute much and scored just 27 runs. Eventually, at the end of the day’s play, Karnataka were struggling at 213 for the loss of seven wickets. Saurabh Kumar was the best bowler for Uttar Pradesh. He picked up four crucial wickets. Shivam Mavi too picked up three wickets.
